Interarms Ppk Serial Numbers

Mar 07, 2003 Serial number on the frame is 242892A. The serial number on the slide is the same without the A suffix. Is the letter at the end of the serial number significant This seems to be a really well made pistol and I am looking forward to shooting it this Saturday. What are your opinions of the PPK, since I am a Walther neophite. I have a beautiful Interarms-built Walther PPk/s with a serial number S025XXX, and would like to know when it was manufactured. Does anyone have any.

Your LGS is your 'friend'. Just keep that in mind when you go to those dangerous places.

This nice little 1987 vintage Walther PPK (manufactured by Ranger in the USA) came home from the LGS yesterday - making 2013 a real Walther year for me! It's in the K005xxx serial number area, probably just a few thousand into Ranger's licensed manufacturing run. This one is in mechanically excellent condition with enough little dings on the finish to indicate it was probably carried in a purse with keys some of it's life. It is still a 90% or so gun. It came in the original Interarms box with three magazines, three mag extensions and two of the metal mag bottoms.

It's got a plum colored trigger guard, and a perfect bright bore. Not shot very much. ( Note, serial numbers removed from the pictures.) Marc.

Several months ago I posted this same question but only hit a dead end. I have a Walther PPK.380 that has an odd serial number. Download Flatout 2 Tpb. On the right side of the slide it says INTERARMS and on the left it has the regular Walther markings.

So far this is not odd. I know it is not a rare version as it looks like any other PPK. The serial number is K0087691. No one has been able to locate it.

It has been said that it could be a fake. That's fine with me as it shoots great. I'm just trying to lay one mystery to rest. Why would someone fake a modern Walther PPK? There are War time PPs and PPKs with spurious markings to turn a 500 dollar gun into a 2000 dollar gun, but other wise,no.

After Walther stopped making the PP and PPK in 1999, Interarms, which had been importing them had them assembly in the states. Walther would not allow them to continue with the old series numbers, so your number is simply a new serial number series used by Interarms.

It can't be found in most Walther books because all the research is on the German and French ( under contract ) Walthers. There is very little collector interest in modern PPs and PPKs.

Now S&W is producing them. You have a very fine firearm, enjoy.
